  UKI-TESOL ASIA INTERNASIONAL CONFERENCE



    The 1st AEJ-UKI SLA Research Conference was held on 23-25 April 2021 by the Indonesian Christian University. This event lasts for three days, namely on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on online virtual Zoom. The event was attended by the Chancellor, UKI lecturers, students from various lecturers outside UKI, and also international invited guests. with the theme  " English SLA in the Asian context and culture post covid 19", the conference will bring together English language professionals from around the world to share, learn, and further English language teaching and research.

On the first day, Friday 23 April 2021, the conference was opened by Mr. Dhaniswara as the Chancellor of the Christian University of Indonesia. After this event was opened by the Chancellor of the Christian University of Indonesia, various remarks from committee representatives and especially the Head of the English Education Study Program by Mr. Hendrikus Male, M.Hum.



This event, it contains more about journals from several lecturers in universities and other countries, some discussing how to make a good journal and how the education system in Indonesia itself. In this event, all lecturers asked questions about the best teaching methods during this pandemic. This is a general session, after the general session is over we are transferred to various channels according to the needs of the participants.

I entered channel 3 were discussing student interests and student learning systems that are feasible for now. in the first session there was sir Parlin explained that to attract students' interest, the lecturers had to provide variations in learning, such as including reading classes and rewriting a story. This strategy greatly supports the development of students' speaking and writing. and also set synchronous and asynchronous classes.

Then there is the second speaker, Mam Masda, who discusses the topic of student learning which has decreased due to Covid-19. mam masda explained that teachers should provide games in the classroom so that students don't get bored or do different things.

This event is very interesting because we can find out various opinions from various sources of speech from various countries such as India, China and even Japan. we learn a lot about how the learning situation in the country itself or also tradition.
