Experience teaching young language learners
Teaching English to young learners is not merely a matter of setting them loose on a plethora of authentic language tasks in the classroom. To successfully teach young learners a second or foreign language requires specific skills and intuitions that differ from those appropriate for adult teaching.
Hi, today I will tell you about my experience teaching young students. At that time I was in the 2nd semester if it was seen that I was still unable to teach but there was a mandatory activity of one of the courses for the examination value.
we were divided into several groups and different elementary schools, I happened to find them near the camps, namely sd 06. at that time I was teaching grade 1 sd. wherein fact grade 1 is not yet fluent in reading or anything else, even the previous teacher I saw was very patient in teaching them.
In the past I taught citizenship where the children were studying, we taught very carefully, and to inspire them, I and my friend used snacks as gifts. they will pay attention to the lesson properly and try to answer well in order to get the prize.
What we must know is that teaching elementary school children must be patient, different from teaching junior high or high school, especially students who don't know how to read or write, in the class that I teach there is one child who can't read and is even alone and I have to pay extra attention to it.
even though I only teach a day but I can feel that teaching elementary school children must be extra to teach it and also have a strategy so that the class can be built and the class can live.
This is a video where I teach elementary school children at that time, you can see that there are many strategies to bring elementary school children to life.
