DANGER
Centipedes are small animals but very dangerous
Dangerous animals themselves do not know big or small, as we know that large animals are very dangerous, but there are some small animals that are very dangerous and we often encounter this.
You must often find these animals roaming around your house, right? Centipedes are carnivorous animals that are able to sting and secrete poison from the mouth to paralyze their prey. Centipedes do live in residential areas because there are abundant food sources. In small sizes, centipedes usually eat the remains of human food and in large sizes, centipedes usually prey on insects.
Although not lethal, centipede bites are extremely painful and can be fatal for young children and toddlers. The Chemistry World page writes that the venom of centipedes is rarely fatal to humans, but it should not be underestimated. The neurotoxin contained in the centipede will make the bite victim feel very sick, have fever, hypertension, and in some cases require medical treatment.
In addition, the venom from the bite of a centipede is also said to cause blood flow to the heart to be blocked. Moreover, it can lead to death from heart failure. Although very dangerous, but until now there have not been found human deaths that occur due to centipede bites. Based on data recorded in the Emergency Medicine Journal, until 2006 there were only three cases of centipede bites that caused a person to die.
Even though it's a rare occurrence, it's a good idea to stay alert, especially if you're around these insects. Centipede bite marks on human skin can actually trigger pain and discomfort. One way to avoid centipede bites is to keep your house and rooms clean. This will prevent centipedes or other insects from hiding in dirty or messy areas. So, the possibility of a centipede biting will be smaller if the cleanliness of the house is maintained.
