Stereotypes in miracle cell movie no 7

The South Korean version of Miracle in Cell No. 7 tells the story of Lee Yong Goo (Ryoo Seung-Ryong), a father who suffers from mental retardation. He has a little daughter named Ye Sung, played by Kal So-won (little Ye Sung) and Park Shin Hye (adult Ye Sung). Once upon a time, Ye Sung had a desire to have a yellow bag with the image of Sailor Moon. Ye Sung and always passed the bag shop and peeked through the glass. They envisioned getting the Sailor Moon bag soon. Unfortunately, the father who works as a parking attendant does not have enough money. When Lee Yong Goo's salary was down, they went to the shop to buy a yellow bag with the image of Sailor Moon.

Unfortunately, only one bag was already in the hands of another buyer, namely the son of a police commissioner. Lee Yong Goo asked the boy to sell it to Ye Sung. However, the child refused to give it. A few days later, the police commissioner's son went to Lee Yong Goo to tell him that there was another shop selling similar bags. Lee Yong Goo also followed the police commissioner's son, but on the way, the child fell and died. At that time, Lee Yong Goo was caught in a case with charges of kidnapping, violence, and murder. Ye Sung was forced to part with Lee Yong Goo. At that time Lee Yong Go had to go to prison, while Ye Sung was sent to a foster care institution. Lee Yong Goo was put in prison cell number 7, a cell that has a high level of security. In the cell, Lee Yong Goo meets other residents. Since going to prison, Lee Yong Goo misses his son very much, and vice versa. So that the father-son relationship can be re-established, their cellmates help them reunite Lee Yong Goo and his son. They need to prepare super-smart tricks and techniques.

from this film, we can find out some stereotypes of Korean people such as:

1. The nationality stereotype where Koreans work hard, it can be seen when Yesung's father who has mental retardation keeps working, and also other Korean stereotypes are very fond of food, especially healthy food, we can see in the film where Yesung's father told Yesung to eat peanuts even though I don't like it because it's for the health of her child.

2. stereotypes at work: in this film, we always think that the police will defend the truth and justice, but that's not true where in this film Yesung's father is forced to go to prison and sentenced to death, not because of his fault and it's because of the cruel actions of a person competent police.

3. Racial stereotypes, where Koreans attach great importance to education, can be seen that Yeung has entered several classes at an early age.
